Steam Loop

A landscape railway tower defense for iPhone and iPad

Lay the loop. Let the trains do the fighting.

The enemy walks the brown road to your station. You lay a closed loop of rails beside it and put trains on it: locomotives pulling wagons that shoot whatever comes in range. Trains cannot overtake each other, so the order of your wagons matters.

Playable local build. Game audio and real-device testing are still outstanding.

The loop is your budget

Every piece of track costs coins, so a long loop near the road is powerful but expensive. Drag your finger over empty squares to lay it; drag back to undo. Then pick a locomotive and hang up to 8 wagons behind it: 15 wagons, 3 locomotives.

You build, then you watch

Building happens between waves. During a wave your trains fight on their own; you can tap a broken piece of track to repair it, speed up or pause. Every enemy you defeat earns coins for the next build. And the waves are sealed: fixed and checksummed before you start, so they never change because of how you build.

Where it stands

The local build includes the campaign, endless mode, expeditions and workshop, in English and Dutch. Current screenshots are rendered by Godot from the game; they are not device captures. Audio integration and real-device/player testing remain outstanding. Release date and price are undecided.
