Steam Loop

Fair, sealed waves

Many tower defense games quietly adjust difficulty to how you play. Steam Loop does not, and you can check that.

Campaign levels

The waves of every level are designed and fixed. Before the level starts they are summarised in a checksum (SHA-256). After the level the game shows the full list and the same checksum, so you can see that nothing changed.

Endless mode

Before the run you see the checksum of a sealed local seed and may add your own seed. The waves follow only from those two seeds and the wave number; no server or network is involved. After the run the game reveals the sealed seed and verifies the checksum. You can also recompute every wave with a short Python script that comes with the game's source:

python3 tools/verify_endless.py <sealed seed> <chosen seed> --commit <checksum>

Nothing in the game is bought or staked and no reward is left to chance on the spot.
